About Dylan Merry

I am a 21-year-old junior at UMass amherst majoring in journalism. I am anticipating graduating in 2013. I know how to podcast, write webpages, and edit sound and film with audacity and final cut express. I work for 91.1 FM WMUA in a half hour newscast at 5:30pm. I want my experience in radio to lead to an internship and a possible job. I can use social media sites like Twitter and Facebook to attract viewers many viewers to my blogs and podcasts.

My interest in journalism stems from avidly listening to NPR programs and sports radio. Programs like This American Life and Snap Judgement inspire me to find compelling information and adapt them to radio. I have interned at a small media company called Media Boss. There, I was trained to edit sound and film, and was instrumental in filming events such as a Boston Milita women's professional football game, and a music video for the local rock band Ernie and the Automatics.


I am confident that my training in radio and film editing fields will make me a valuable asset to any media outlet, I believe my work will show that the radio and journalism profession is where I belong. You can find my professional profile on LinkedIn.com.
